[12:35:05] <ben2> i'm just getting a super old computer, (well it seems borderline for what is easy to installw tih now) .. seems ramdisk may be quite an issue, it has around 288mb of ram, (i think 256+32) but just trying to be slightly planned in advance

[15:51:54] <KillerWasp> you can use 288mb without problem, you must use lxde or other light weight WM.
[15:53:14] <KillerWasp> also if it don't sufficient you can configure with less stuff and compiling your own linux kernel from your PKGBUILD.

[20:09:46] <ben2> actually i think i started with 8mb originally but it was too painful haha
[20:10:44] <ben2> i'll probably just use notion. i used to run ion3 for over 20 years :)

[20:11:33] <ben2> it's partiall an experiment to see how light i can make things.. on 24mb i used to use linux virtual consoles without x11.. cos x was too bloated
